My name is Julianne Gardner and I am one of the first grade teachers at Independence Primary School. This is my seventh year teaching in Independence and my fourth year as part of the first grade team.
I am a graduate of Walsh University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Intervention. Additionally, I hold a K-12 Reading Endorsement and have obtained my Master's Degree in K-12 Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in gifted and talented learners.
I feel that a positive learning experience is built upon a cooperative effort amongst the parent(s), child, and teacher. One of my goals is to help each student work to their greatest potential as they develop a love for learning. My role is to also help your child develop the skills necessary to follow directions and cooperate with others, while learning how to take steps toward gaining confidence and independence. First grade students will achieve many valuable skills this year in terms of academic growth, greater self-confidence, and improved social skills. I know that by working together we can make this school year rewarding, fun, and successful.
